photo: grunts1 My work is mainly figurative, from full sized down to a couple of inches tall. At the smaller level I make solid figures with details modelled roughly (as pictured), at the larger level the form is coiled first then modelled.

I use tools as little as possible, preferring to use my hands. To heighten this effect, I do not use glazes, leaving the surface naked to show building marks and finger imprints. Although poise and character of a piece are more important than details, I still try to achieve a naturalistic result that people can respond to.

I have exhibited in 'Art in Clay 2000-2006' in Hatfield House, 'Affordable Art Fair' in Battersea Park, London as well as other venues throughout the UK. I am also a contributor to a charity auction 'Art for Life 2007' by Cancer Research UK at Christie's.

I studied at Kent Institute of Art & Design (BA hon - Ceramics 2000).
